Juneteenth

Blount Mansion will be open on Thursday, June 19th.

Today we commemorate the demise of slavery in the United States of America.

We have an extensive collection of information on the enslaved settlers at Blount Mansion. Take a tour and hear about Cupid and Sal, the married enslaved couple who came with William and Mary Blount to settle the Southwest Territory. While here in the 1790s, it is believed that Cupid, Sal and their children lived in the kitchen, a separate building from the original house.

See our documentation of other enslaved frontier settlers at our Visitors Center.

Tours on the hour, first tour at 10am, last tour starts at 3pm.

Tours are $15 for adults, $10 for children under 12 and specialty discounts are available.
